How we review

Research before recommendations

The initial reviews are research-based. The review articles do not claim hands-on testing, measured durability, or personal shuffle experience. Homepage cards labeled My pick reflect my personal preferences and observations; they are personal recommendations, not controlled tests. Cards labeled Editorial pick are based on documented product design. Manufacturer documentation establishes product identity and stated specifications. Independent tests are used only when their setup and exact variant can be identified.

Editorial judgments interpret the documented design for a particular use: for example, whether a box offers a separate accessory tray or whether an inner sleeve changes the space needed for a deck. They are not laboratory findings.

Fit evidence has a label

Manufacturer-stated means the maker documents the fit under stated conditions. Independently reported means a separate source describes a combination and its setup. Estimated means a calculation or inference, not a verified fit. Unknown means the evidence does not settle the question. Tested by this site will be used only if actual testing is documented.

Outside dimensions describe storage footprint; they do not establish usable internal clearance. Card size, sleeve size, holder size, and card thickness are different measurements. Brand-specific capacity caveats travel with the specifications.

Selection and scoring

Products are selected for distinct buying decisions, reliable documentation, and relevant reader questions. Public search-result coverage helps identify topics; it does not establish monthly search volume or a popularity ranking.

There are no numerical ratings in the initial release. Recommendation labels describe use cases rather than an unsupported universal winner. Affiliate availability does not determine the verdict.

Sources, dates, and corrections

Each review lists its sources and substantive verification date. Dates change when facts or recommendations are rechecked, not merely because the website is rebuilt. Conflicting essential evidence prevents release of an affected recommendation.

Calculations state their assumptions. Sleeve counts exclude spare sleeves and tokens unless explicitly included; storage capacities retain the manufacturer’s card and sleeve assumptions. No accessory guarantees future condition, a grade, or investment value.
