Use a conditional shortlist
For a 100-card double-sleeved setup with thick inners, start by comparing the Gamegenic XL models that explicitly address that construction. Choose Squire for upright access, Sidekick for horizontal access, and Watchtower when the accessory drawer earns its extra footprint. These are design-based recommendations under the maker’s sleeve conditions.
Ultimate Guard’s Boulder and Sidewinder provide useful stated capacities, but those counts are based on Ultimate Guard sleeves. A 100+ name is not a cross-brand certification. If you use a different inner-and-outer combination, treat the exact fit as unresolved until there is suitable evidence.
Independent evidence is combination-specific
Double Sleeved’s published guide reports a 72 mm practical stack for 100 cards in Dragon Shield Perfect Fit plus Dragon Shield Matte, compared with a 68 mm theoretical figure. That retailer’s test illustrates why a calculation and a real stack can differ. It is not a measurement by this site or proof that every current production batch behaves identically.
Use that guide for its named combinations and stated conditions. Its older measurements should not silently replace current manufacturer dimensions, and a report about one version should not establish fit for a new generation.
Budget tokens and the return trip
Begin with the cards that must fit after play, not only the cards packed at the start. If a featured card leaves a display case and returns to the deck compartment, include it there. Add tokens and spare cards separately rather than assuming the plus sign in a model name supplies a known allowance.
A dice drawer solves accessory organization; it does not make the card compartment deeper. For a larger card allocation, compare the Academic’s documented main capacity instead of squeezing extras into a deck-only box.
Measure the space you use
Check exterior dimensions against the bag, internal dimensions against the assembly, and opening space against your table. Do not compare exterior and interior measurements as if they were the same. A good buying choice has enough practical handling clearance as well as a plausible nominal count.
For a tight existing box, changing the inner sleeve can be as important as changing the box. Do not compress a deck to validate a capacity target.
